  Our Founder,

Dr. M. Kaitlin Dozier

Dr. M. Kaitlin Dozier, known to clients and colleagues as Dr. Kaitie, is the founder of Peace for Every Pet. With a career rooted in compassionate end-of-life care, Dr. Kaitie brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and deep empathy to her work with pets and their families.

Dr. Kaitie’s journey in veterinary medicine began in 2016 when she graduated from Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She then dedicated several years to animal welfare organizations in the Kansas City area, including KC Pet Project and the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. Though she found fulfillment in shelter work, she felt drawn to a different kind of care — one focused on ensuring that no pet would suffer or face an undignified passing due to financial constraints.

In 2021, Dr. Kaitie joined Lap of Love as an in-home veterinary hospice and euthanasia veterinarian. Over the next five years, her work took her into the homes of thousands of families during their most vulnerable moments, where she witnessed both the profound love people have for their pets and the financial barriers that often force difficult choices about end-of-life care.

The turning point came when Dr. Kaitie met a client who was willing to take on significant financial hardship to provide care for their pet. They had already committed to an appointment knowing the cost, but it was a struggle for their budget. When Dr. Kaitie was able to offer them a free appointment, the client broke down in tears — not because they couldn’t possibly afford the care, but because the relief of not having to take on that financial burden was enormous. That moment inspired Dr. Kaitie to do more. In April 2025, she founded Peace for Every Pet with a mission and vision to remove financial barriers so that no pet would ever experience prolonged suffering or an undignified passing due to financial hardship.

A Commitment to Teamwork and Compassion

Dr. Kaitie’s philosophy is simple: with teamwork, we can achieve anything.

She has seen firsthand how collaboration among animal welfare organizations, shelters, and veterinarians can create meaningful change. That’s why Peace for Every Pet is designed to complement — not compete with — the incredible work already happening in the Kansas City animal welfare network. By working together, we can ensure that every pet receives the care and dignity they deserve at the end of their life.
